Happy Valentine’s Day!
I used to HATE Valentine’s Day, and I can definitely understand why it’s an irritating holiday to many people. I was single a good chunk of my college years and 20s, and I protested the holiday by wearing black. I’m far from those days now, but part of me wants to wear black today as a tribute to my angsty teenage self. (Actually – I can think of a black dress that would look work well for both work and for dinner tonight – one of those elusive “day to night wear” combos that fashion magazines of my youth always talked about. DONE).
Husband and I are keeping it low key. We are going out to dinner and getting each other cards, which I MAY OR MAY NOT STILL NEED TO GET because I am the WORST.
This morning I woke up and did not feel like doing anything. I’ve been working out nearly every day these past two weeks, and my body was tired. I haven’t been waking up as early for the past several days, and I took it as a sign that my body needed some much needed rest. Work started this week as completely chaotic, but deadlines shifted, and I now have a much more manageable schedule. For the first time in several weeks, I can breathe a little.
So I stayed in bed, catching up on stories (like the Delta plane experiencing severe turbulence, which I’m going to pretend I DIDN’T READ since I’m flying this year, and Ryan Adams is apparently a terrible human being – disappointing but not altogether surprising.) After waking up, I made some coffee, and spent 20 minutes working on my Hygge shawl.

Do you like the dog hair on the stitches? Charming.
I’ve probably pulled out this separator ten times, but I think I’m finally happy with the first row (that latest row is probably going to be torn out – I think I miscounted again. ERGH). At least I’m semi-finished with the separator, so I can move on to the embroidery, which I’m sure will be a PIECE OF CAKE.
I need to get ready for work, but whether you are celebrating Valentine’s Day, Galentine’s Day, or this-holiday-sucks-it’s-Single’s-Awareness-Day-and-STOP-TALKING-ABOUT-IT, I hope you have a wonderful day.

You are not the worst! That’s just the manufactured holiday pressure getting to you. 🙂

LOL! Agreed! Haha I checked with my husband this morning and he hadn’t gotten me anything either…probably by the time we drop by CVS after work, all that will be left are the “Happy Valentine’s Day to my loving grandson” cards :p

Well, I got up and found a card on the table…and I hadn’t gotten anything because we never exchange anything! It’s fine, they know we love them anyway!

I grew up in a country without Valentine’s Day (but they introduced it there now, I mean hard to pass such opportunity to sell some cards and other stuff;) ) and so did my bf, so we can happily ignore the day claiming cultural reasons 😉
I also had to laugh at the dog hair comment, because I know the struggle is real. I am obsessively locking all my yarn and projects in plastic bags, use lint rollers all the time, and still find the dreaded cat hair everywhere!

Haha yes! No pressure :p We are usually pretty chill about it, just a card and some yummy chocolates.
Yes! The pet hair is hard to escape! Hahaha.
