Hello friends! I hope you had a good weekend. We were in our hometown on Friday for some family stuff, then came back to Austin Saturday. Yesterday I took some time to work on my tunic before finishing my chores and packing, and it felt good to take some time for myself. Still trying to figure out my work load and managing expectations with less than 5 weeks left at my office. I love my job and am so grateful to be on so many interesting projects, but there’s only so much overtime one can do when she has to pack up a house. So I need to figure out what I need to do for my projects to be in a good place before I take off in mid-July.
An interesting crinkle – so Friday night, we were all at my parents’ house talking when we heard a loud crash outside. Husband had parked his car right along the street, right up against the curb, and someone had crashed into his parked car. Judging by the way her car looked and the lack of squealing braking sounds, we don’t think she stopped at all before hitting it.
Thankfully, she was okay, and we were very grateful that we weren’t in the car when she hit it. So now we need to wait and see if Husband’s car is going to be okay. Fingers crossed it will be! It’s all manageable and pretty minor in the grand scheme of things, but really don’t want to be buying a car before we move! (We’re not taking my old truck with us, so that would be TWO [used] cars we’d need to purchase. GRR). My parents were a huge help throughout all that excitement, for which we were grateful, and it was very nice that I didn’t have to make that “I’m okay but…” call to them. I’ve been in the other driver’s shoes and I know how awful it feels to be responsible for an accident – so I am not mad at her. Just glad we’re all ok, and crossing my fingers his car isn’t totaled.
I did manage to work on this tunic and you know what? It’s all messed up.
The stitch count is off, I attacked the edges of this project like I’ve only been crocheting for three weeks, and it’s just generally BLAH but I’m past the point of caring or wanting to frog it. So I’ll just keep working on it and hope it doesn’t fit like a paper bag when I put it on. But it probably will, so stay tuned for the PAPER BAG TUNIC post premiering in 2021.
I’m going to try and work through this little workbook within the next couple of weeks. It’s a mini-course that came with one of my Flow magazines.
I’ve been getting rid of a lot of stuff and it feels SO good – but I think I’ll keep my old Flow magazines. They still spark joy.
I guess I’d better go to work and stuff. Hope you all have a great Monday!
